DRESS CODE FOR REPRESENTATIVE GAMES, (Friendly matches, MEL, Johns Trophy, Walker Cup, National finals) – Regulation County shirt with royal blue shorts/crops/trousers.
COUNTY COMPETITIONS – Club uniform.
Flat soled shoes must be worn on the green.

COMPETITIONS LEADING TO NATIONAL FINALS: (ALL SEMI-FINALS AND FINALS TO BE PLAYED ON A SET WEEKEND).

2 wood singles -21 ends – played on a set day up to semi-final.
4 wood singles – 21 shots.
4 wood pairs – 18 ends.
3 wood triples – 18 ends
2 wood fours –18 ends
Senior Fours (aged 55 and over by 1st April – 2 woods – 18 ends.
All competitions are played under Bowls England Rules.
The singles is played on a ‘play by’ date. All other competitions are played on a set date.
Matches may be played before or on a weekend by mutual agreement and with agreement of the Competition Secretary.
The first mentioned player/team is the challenger and will be responsible for:
- Providing a marker for singles and paying any rink fees due.
In all rounds the starting time shall not be BEFORE 10.30 a.m. or AFTER 6.30 p.m. unless mutually agreed by both players/teams.
If a player/team fails to appear and be ready to play within 30 minutes after agreed start time, the opponent may claim a walkover.
If the green is closed due to inclement weather, the match will have to be rearranged by mutual agreement, as soon as possible and before the closing date of the round. Matches stopped by inclement weather and re-arranged will carry on with the scores as they were when stopped. Unfinished ends will be null and void. Two trial ends may be played when the match resumes.
In the event of no decision being reached in any round owing to weather conditions and where it is impossible to re-arrange the fixture, if 5 or more ends have been played in the match, the score will stand as the result. If the score is a tie, the result will be decided by a toss of a coin.
The choice of 2 rinks to be given.
Scorecards to have the name of all players and be signed by both skips. Winning players to keep their scorecards and bring to the semi-finals.
No extension of the closing dates for each round will be granted forany reason whatsoever.
Holidays are not accepted as a reason for non- attendance.
SMOKING ON THE GREEN IS PROHIBITED. FAILURE TO COMPLY COULD LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION.
DOMESTIC COMPETITIONS
COUNTY TOP CLUB: START OF PLAY 10.00 a.m.
Clubs may enter more than one team. Two clubs may combine if they have insufficient lady members: i.e. less than 12.A club side consists of 10 players: if a player is unavailable on the day, the club may forfeit the singles.The challenger is responsible for making all match arrangements up to and including the semi-final. The draw for rinks to be made by the captains prior to the start of the match.The winning side will be determined by the highest number of points scored.1 point for each discipline won. In the case of a draw the winner will be decided on the total number of shots scored in eachdiscipline. If still a draw then the pairs, triples and fours will each play an extra end to decide the winner.

GWEN STEELE UNBADGED SINGLES – (played on a set day)
A 3 wood singles open to all bowlers who do not have a County badge. Played over 15 ends on a knock-out basis. Final played over 18 ends. (3 times winners not eligible to enter).
BLAY BENEVOLENT CUP AND PLATE- (played on a set day)
A 2 wood drawn pairs open to all bowlers. 12 ends or 50 minutes. First round losers play in the ‘plate’ competition.
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS (played on a set day)
Open to all club singles winners. 4 wood singles – 21 shots.
